PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The Chef or Sous Chef is responsible for leading, motivating and developing the culinary team by executing the highest standard of culinary excellence. They oversee all food preparation for the restaurant. The Chef is also accountable for ensuring maximum productivity and cost-effectiveness through food and labour costing initiatives. You’ll bring professional, enthusiastic ownership to the menu each day; and contribute in setting Eli + Trix apart while assisting the FOH team to create a rave worthy guest experience!

QUALIFICATIONS: Chef or Sous Chef experience with post-secondary education in Culinary Arts Management or similar experience. Food Handler Safety Certification.

SKILLS: Strong business acumen. Efficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel, Google and POS systems. Self-starter, flexible and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Must possess good verbal and written communication skills. Strong leadership skills. Time management skills. Human resources management skills such as: recruitment, selection, training, performance management.

SUMMARY: Oversees and coordinates daily operations of THE KITCH’INN and its satellite properties to ensure highest standards for cleanliness, product quality, food service, and guest service. The ideal candidate will be positive, energetic and knowledgeable of the tourism and hospitality industry. A strong background in administrative / operations is preferrable. Must be hands on in all aspects of the day-to-day operation with the focus on excellent customer service and exceptional guest experience. Must have flexible schedule and reliable transportation as some local travel will be necessary.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for all guest communication.
• Ensures that all areas of the Inn / Satellite properties are properly cleaned and ready for guests’ arrival.
• Anticipates and assesses guest needs and responds in a courteous and professional manner.
• Responds to emails, answers phone calls, makes reservations, monitors and manages reservations using channel management software.
• Works with the team on matters pertaining to guest reservations, dinner reservations etc.
• Communicates with management and/or maintenance to report maintenance and/or repair needs.
• Monitors and maintains proper inventory of all supplies; cleaning, kitchen, guest toiletries, linens, marketing materials, etc.
• All housekeeping duties. Manages and schedules housekeeping support staff.
• Inspects rooms and all common areas on a daily basis and promptly addresses any and all issues that may be present. Manages and schedules trades accordingly.
• Develops, implements, and maintains deep cleaning schedules.
• Manages expenses within approved budget constraints.
• Prepares accurate and timely reports as required.
• Trains, supervises, motivates, and develops summer staff when necessary and manages workflow.
• Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance.
• Keeps up to date on overall activities, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
• May also have marketing responsibilities online, via phone, and in person.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS: 2+ years of related experience or equivalent. Post secondary education in hospitality or hotel management is an asset but not required. Must have computer skills (Microsoft + Google Business Suite ) Content creation and social media experience is an asset but not required. (Adobe Suite + Canva, Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn) Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. Creative, ability to multi-task and be a strong team player. Passion for hospitality and providing excellent customer service. Serve Right + Food Handler Safety Certification a bonus but not required.
